Are divisions age or grade based?
Summit Hoops divisions are grade based. Athletes will play in their current grade until August 1st. Players can play up but cannot play down.
Are eligibility documents required?
Eligibility documents are required. Coaches MUST be able to produce player birth certificates or a current grade report card. We make every effort to ensure teams play at the appropriate grade level. However, If a team would like to protest another team meeting the eligibility requirements a $100 protest fee shall be collected and must be done within one hour of the completion or start of the game in protest. If you win the protest, your fee will be refunded. Any ineligible teams win will be forfeited with an illegal player removed from team play and with potential team removal from event(s).
What is the Summit Hoops Foul Policy?
Every free throw will be 1-for-2 or 1-for-3 (If fouled on a 3 pointer). Meaning, If Player A gets fouled on a layup attempt and MISSES, He/She will shoot ONE shot to get 2 points. If he/she misses his/her free throw attempt, It is a live ball. If A team reaches the shooting bonus on the 7th foul of each half. ALL bonus free throws will be 1-for-2. All technical fouls will be an automatic two points plus possession of the ball.
If not enough teams enter to complete a pool, Summit Hoops reserves the right to combine age divisions to the next available age group.
